Families can find strength from a Cancer Fund for Children Short Break
When a family member is receiving treatment for cancer, we understand that family life can suffer. Everyday activities such a meal together or even a trip to the park can become a distant memory.
At Cancer Fund for Children, we recognise the importance of spending quality time together as a family and offer a range of free short breaks for families coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis.
You can choose to have either a therapeutic Short Break at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down, or enjoy a self-catering Short Break at our Cottages near Coleraine. Both provide the opportunity to relax far away from the pressures of gruelling cancer treatment and hospital visits.
Cancer Fund for Children Short Breaks are available to:
- Families whose child (0-24) has been diagnosed with cancer
- Families where a parent has been diagnosed with cancer
- Young adults (18-25) who have been diagnosed with cancer
- Bereaved families
*Families from ROI who have a child (0-24) diagnosed with cancer can be referred through the Social Work Team at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
