School kids urged to grab a book or ‘twoooo’ and ReadOn

World of Owls Ollie the Owl helps children ReadOn this World Book Day!

ReadOn, sponsored by EUROSPAR and ViVOXTRA, is a fun and educational campaign for primary and secondary schools. Pupils can read anything from comics to poetry. Younger children can listen to stories or use picture books.

To get children reading World of Owls brought Ollie to visit. Ollie is a 16 year-old Eurasian eagle owl, rescued from a garden shed in a housing estate when he was just three months old. The police found him covered in paint, alone and starving. Thanks to World of Owls, Ollie is now healthy and has appeared in numerous TV shows and films.

World Book Day Competition

All schools that register to take part in ReadOn during the week of World Book Day (29th February – 4th March) will be entered into a prize draw to win a visit from the real Ollie the Owl on Thursday 3rd March! Join today to be in with a chance of winning an assembly pupils will remember for a long time to come!

ReadOn materials

All schools that sign up will receive a ReadOn pack with posters, bookmarks, pencils and teacher resources. Cancer Fund for Children’s Schools Fundraiser, Rebecca, also visits schools for a special ReadOn assembly.
