PRM Group raise £10,000 for Cancer Fund for Children

Christmas came early this week when we got the news that PRM Group, one of Ireland’s largest independent chilled and frozen food distributers and one of our corporate partners, announced it had raised an amazing £10,000 to support children with cancer.

The Lisburn-based company, who have supported us since December 2015, had exceeded their £10,000 fundraising target, just in time for Christmas.

Employees at the firm raised the funds throughout the year by taking part in a range of fundraising events and initiatives, from 10k runs to quiz nights and raffles, as well as taking part in our Bog Run and Slieve Donard events.

Speaking on behalf of the firm’s Staff Charity Committee, Patrick Black, Business Support & Marketing Manager, PRM Group said:

“We are delighted to have exceeded our £10,000 fundraising target for Cancer Fund for Children this year. The past 12 months have been filled with fun and challenging events to raise much needed awareness and funds to support the invaluable work of Cancer fund for Children. We would like to thank our generous customers and suppliers who have supported our fundraising efforts and helped us to hit this target.”

The Gift Of Support For Children With Cancer

The money raised by PRM Group will us to provide a range of practical, emotional and financial support children with cancer in Northern Ireland, as well as offering therapeutic short breaks to families from across Ireland at their short break centre Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down.

Our Corporate Fundraiser Matthew Allen, added:

“It has been fantastic to work alongside PRM Group this year, and to see how enthusiastic and committed they have been to fundraising for the charity. We receive less than 0.5% of our income through government funding so support from businesses like PRM is absolutely vital to enable us to continue our work of supporting families affected by cancer. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at PRM Group for their incredible generosity and support – it really will make such a huge difference to families facing cancer this Christmas.”
