ReadOn is Cancer Fund for Children’s sponsored reading campaign for Primary and Secondary Schools. Pupils are encouraged to read for fun whilst supporting local children and young people living with cancer. ReadOn can take place any week in the academic calendar and is a great idea for Children’s Book Week in October and World Book Day in March!

What will my school receive?

Teachers will receive a ReadOn pack with posters and resources and pupils will receive a bookmark and pencil as a thank you! ReadOn is also perfect for school assemblies. Our Schools Fundraiser, Rebecca, can visit your school before ReadOn, to introduce the event, and after for a thank you cheque presentation in assembly.

Why should we take part?

Fun & Easy:  Children have fun and feel inspired to read for pleasure

Educational: A fantastic way to introduce pupils to new authors and new books

Library Time: Schools have reported that more pupils visit the library

Where does the money go?

Your school will make a difference to local children living with cancer across Northern Ireland. Last year ReadOn raised over £90,000 which has helped Cancer Fund for Children support families through a range of services including financial grants, therapeutic short breaks at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle and one to one support sessions with our Specialists.
